Saturday's Setlist: Bruno's 30th Birthday Jam Session with The Grifters

The evening's tunes were affected, to one extent or another, by the lovely African spirit above, along with Bell's Two Hearted Ale and Pottsville's finest.

No planned setlist, just a perusal of our respective catalogs. The lineup is me and Pete Flynn on guitar, with Trish Imbrogno on bass (and various permutations thereof):

You Ain't Goin' Nowhere (Dylan)
Dark Hollow (C. White)
Dire Wolf (Dead)
In the Pines (B. Monroe)
Pig in a Pen (R. Skaggs)
Sweet Virginia (Stones)
Althea (Dead)
I Can't Be Satisfied (M. McKinley)
Postcards from Hell (Wood Bros.)
Deep River Blues (D. Watson)
Mother's Meth-Head Blues*
Dirty Business (New Riders of the Purple Sage)
Midnight Special (A. Lee)
Whiskey River (W. Nelson)
Nashville Blues (D. Watson)
Me & My Uncle (Dead)
High Time (Dead)
It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry (Dylan)
Nobody Knows the Way I Feel This Morning (L. Armstrong)
Deep Elem Blues (Dead)
New Speedway Boogie (Dead)
Y'all Come Back Saloon (Oak Ridge Boys)
Rosin the Bow (Trad., original arr.)
Copperhead Road (S. Earle)
In Color (J. Johnson)
Rocky Top (B. Bryant)
Black Peter (Dead)
Monkey & the Engineer (J. Fuller)
Dead Flowers (Stones)
Make Me a Pallet On Your Floor (J. Hurt)

(Note: There were actually a few more songs in the actual set, but the recorder ran out of memory at this point. In the immortal words of Sen. Clay Davis, D-West Baltimore, "Sheeeeeit.")

Check out The Grifters. They're the shit.
